School Trips to Washington Wildfowl Trust
The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust is the largest international wetland conservation charity in the UK.
Founded in 1946 by the artist and naturalist Sir Peter Scott (1909 - 1989), WWT has 9 visitor centres around the UK, where people can get closer to wetland birds and enjoy spectacular wetland landscapes. WWT centres are great places for children and adults to interact with all things wet and wild. Become connected to nature. Open your senses. Learn about the water cycle; why water is essential for life; how life works; threatened waterlife; the hidden world of a pond and lots more in the WWT WISE UP to Wetlands schools programme. Everything is tailored to the English and Welsh National Curriculum (KS 1-4/5) and equivalent curricula in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Special programmes are available for GCSE, 'A' level and special needs.
